Suffolk Food Partnership is a grassroots initiative committed to building a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable local food system. Based across Suffolk, we bring communities together to grow, share, and access fresh, nutritious food while tackling food poverty and reducing waste. Our collaborative approach unites individuals, growers, charities, and businesses in a shared mission to support food security for everyone in our county.
Growing Food, Growing Community
Across community gardens and shared allotments, we create spaces where people can come together to learn, grow, and thrive. Volunteers of all ages cultivate fresh produce that is shared with local residents, food banks, and community kitchens. These gardens are also hubs for learning—offering practical workshops in gardening, cooking, and sustainability, while promoting wellbeing and connection.
Rescuing Food, Reducing Waste
Through partnerships with local retailers, farmers, and food suppliers, Suffolk Food Partnership rescues good-quality surplus food that would otherwise be discarded. This food is redistributed through community fridges, pop-up markets, and local charities. By reducing waste and getting food to those who need it most, we’re creating a more efficient and compassionate food system.
Championing Local Food and Producers
We’re passionate about supporting Suffolk’s local growers and food producers. Our food hubs and community-supported agriculture (CSA) schemes make it easier for residents to access seasonal, locally sourced produce. By choosing local, we’re not only supporting small businesses but also reducing environmental impact and reconnecting people with where their food comes from.
