Activities

Current subgroups:

  • Local production and access – Keeping Suffolk-grown food in Suffolk and promoting sustainable farming
  • Food education and culture – Engaging people with food and expanding learning opportunities
  • Food waste – Reducing waste across the food system
  • Food insecurity – Supporting community food projects and addressing the underlying causes of food insecurity

Past activities:

Suffolk’s first Food Summit was hosted at the Food Museum on Tuesday, the 12th of November, co-produced by the Suffolk Food Partnership, Community Action Suffolk and Suffolk County Council. This event, funded by the Suffolk Public Sector Leaders Group, brought together 150 people across the food system – from local authorities to farmers and academics, to celebrate, debate, and share knowledge and experiences around all things food.

The Food Waste Action Week survey was the Suffolk Food Partnership’s first public-facing endeavor and it was a grand success thanks to partnership working. Led by the Food Waste Subgroup, the survey was carefully designed and its distribution strategically planned, leveraging the reach of our stakeholders to circulate it widely. By aligning with WRAP’s “Choose What You’ll Use” campaign, the survey aimed to gather Suffolk-specific insights to inform a localised food waste reduction campaign.
