East Suffolk Council commissioned the University of Essex to conduct a review and analysis of the food support across East Suffolk. There’s an impressive network of different kinds of food support, from full-blown pantries to boxes of food at the church door. This has grown up organically over time, particularly through the Covid era. University of Essex have been tasked with assessing how effective this overall ecosystem of support is in reducing food poverty, so we can help spread best practice and support and encourage the types of project that are most effective. The report will be available in November 2026.
